There are three formats of training related to entrepreneurship, including specialized workshops:

1. Online training – Introduction to Entrepreneurship:
   If you would like to explore entrepreneurship in Canada even if you do not have a specific business idea, you may participate in this online training. You will be introduced to basic steps to starting a business in Canada.
2. Condensed 3 week training – Entrepreneurship Essentials:
   If you have at least one business idea, this condensed 3 week training will inform you on everything you need to know to start your business.  Workshops include:
   • Writing a Business Plan
   • Conducting Market Research
   • Bookkeeping and Accounting Basics
   • Registering your Small Business
3. Full 8 Week training – ABC’s of Entrepreneurship: Covers all aspects of starting and running a business in Canada
   • Level 1 Training – Foundations of Entrepreneurship
   • Level 2 Training – Building a Business
   • Level 3 Training – Launching a Business

Specialized technical training: 

Specialized workshops are provided for specific industries and specific skills development.

• Learn how to open and operate a franchise.
• Learn about importing and exporting in Asia.
• Learn how to create a business pitch.
• Learn how to price your product or service.
• Learn the useful tools and resources for entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurial mentorship aims to equip newcomer entrepreneurs with the confidence, skills and tools needed to achieve key milestones on their entrepreneurship journey. We strive to remove barriers to success by facilitating mentorship matches between newcomer entrepreneurs and established mentors in the Canadian business community.

Business coaching sessions: These 1-hour sessions are available to any client at the ONE Hub who wants to discuss their business idea(s) and start/further develop a business plan with the Business Development Advisor. These sessions are one-on-one only, currently over Zoom due to COVID-19, and scheduled on an as-needed basis. Interested? Get your referral!

Work shadowing opportunities: The ONE Hub will offer work shadowing opportunities once deemed safe by the public health authorities. The goal will be for newcomer entrepreneurs to learn first-hand what is involved in running a small business in Ottawa. In the meantime, we are offering virtual panels with a semi-private Q&A session with local entrepreneurs who share their insights and best practices on opening a business in different industries. Funding support: Determining the funding needs of your business may not be straight forward. Many entrepreneurs, particularly those starting their businesses, need support in developing their financial plans and determining the sources of funding. Our one-on-one support will help you in designing your financial plan.

The Alumni Program fosters a community of engaged immigrant entrepreneurs who support each other through peer communication channels and networking opportunities.
